Powers 43% of the web · You own every file · Edit it yourself
Why WordPress
The case for WordPress.
WordPress powers over 40% of all websites because it gives business owners three things proprietary builders can't: full ownership of your site, the freedom to edit content yourself, and a 20-year ecosystem of plugins for anything you'll ever need.
You own it
Your site, your files, your hosting. No platform lock-in, no monthly ransom to keep your site online.
Edit it yourself
Change text, swap photos, and publish blog posts without calling a developer. The admin is built for non-technical owners.
Grows with you
Start with a brochure site, then add a blog, booking, memberships, or a CRM later — without rebuilding from scratch.
Search-engine native
WordPress was built for content and SEO. Clean URLs, fast pages, and full control over metadata, out of the box.
How it compares
WordPress vs the alternatives.
For most Toronto small businesses, WordPress is the sweet spot — agency-level flexibility and full ownership at a fraction of custom-code cost, while still being able to edit everything yourself.

WordPress FAQ
WordPress questions.
Common questions about cost, timelines, page builders, and migrations.
How long does WordPress development take?
It depends on the scope of the project. A simple one-page landing page can take a week or two, depending on whether design iterations are needed. More pages and more functionality require more time — a multi-page small-business site typically runs a few weeks. After our discovery call I'll give you a firm timeline alongside the quote.
WordPress or custom code — which should I choose?
Choose WordPress if you want to edit your own content, need a faster turnaround, or have a tighter budget — it's the practical choice for most small-business websites. Choose custom code (Next.js, React) when you want maximum control and the best possible performance: these sites load faster, score higher on Core Web Vitals, and carry none of the restrictions that themes and plugins impose. With custom code there's no limit on design, functionality, or integrations — if you can imagine it, it can be built. The trade-off is a higher upfront cost and that you'll usually rely on a developer for larger changes.
Do you use page builders like Elementor or Divi?
It depends on the needs of the project. I can build with the default Gutenberg WordPress editor, or integrate Elementor if you need more specific functionality and animations on your website. We'll decide together during the discovery call which approach fits your project best.
How much does a WordPress website cost in Toronto?
My WordPress services start from $1,000+. A single landing page starts at $1,000, a small-business site (3–5 pages with a blog and SEO) runs $1,000–$3,000, and larger projects with migrations or integrations start at $3,000+. Every plan includes consultation plus domain and hosting setup — you pay for your own hosting (about $15–40/month) and I'll help you set it up. I'll send a firm quote within 24 hours of your brief.
Can you help with hosting?
Yes. During the discovery and consultation phase I'll get to know your project requirements and recommend a host that fits. If you already have hosting, I'll help you connect it to your new website. Hosting fees are paid directly to the provider, not to Zenith Design.
Can you help me set up my domain?
Yes — I'll help you set up your domain and configure DNS so your website goes live on the right address. If you don't have a domain yet, I'll walk you through registering one. If you already own one, I'll connect it to your new site and handle the DNS records for you.
Do you provide ongoing maintenance?
I include two weeks of free post-launch support in case any bugs come up that need to be cleared up. Beyond that window, I can provide ongoing support and updates for an additional fee.
Can you migrate my Wix, Squarespace, or Shopify site?
It depends on the project. Reach out and I'll scope out the migration for your specific site — where possible I'll preserve your existing URLs and content to avoid SEO drops and set up 301 redirects where structures change.
Do you build e-commerce sites?
No — at this time I don't support e-commerce sites. If your project needs a full online store, I'm happy to point you toward a platform that fits.
